Following is a copy of the DVD compatibility notice that may be included in your DVD case: NOTICE - Compatible DVD Format In order to offer DVD’s as a potential medium, all early versions of this video are “burned” onto DVD, not replicated (stamped). This is a typical practice for highly specialized videos that are made for select groups, and are not intended for tens or hundreds of thousands of consumers. You can tell whether your DVD was burned or stamped by looking for tract marks on the bottom—tracks equals burned, no tracks means stamped...or a blank DVD that wasn’t burned properly. Burned DVD’s typically use a +R or –R format. All newer DVD players will usually read both of these formats. However, older DVD players can be picky and may only read one of the two formats—some won’t read any. Currently, the –R format can play in 93% of all DVD players (apx. 2,262, with 175 non-compatible). The +R can play in 87% of all DVD players, however, more recent DVD players seem to favor the +R. Since the compatibility between these two formats is within 6% (and growing closer), these DVD’s may be burned with either format. As such, there is a 7-13% chance that this particular DVD will not work in your DVD player. There are also some computer DVD players that prefer one format versus another. Your DVD is marked as either +R or –R (if it is marked CD-ROM then it is not a DVD, but the PC-based CD-ROM version). You are welcome to try it in case it was marked incorrectly. If your DVD will not play, you can exchange it for another format (either a different DVD format, CD-ROM, or VHS)—there may or may not be a slight charge (usually only if there is required expedited postage) for this exchange, depending on the circumstances. Please contact the Webmaster at www.chanimal.com (select the e-mail link on the bottom of the page), and include your contact information (include phone if you need special shipping), the format of your current DVD (+R or -R which is marked on the DVD), the make and model of your DVD player, and your preferred replacement format (DVD, CD-ROM or VHS). A replacement will be shipped immediately. However, please consult the following web site to verify compatibility with your DVD player before seeking a DVD exchange: www.dvdhelp.com. If incompatible, please select a different format. Best regards, Chanimal Marketing |
